Access to high-quality education is the foundation for improving the quality of life and achieving sustainable development.We believe and facts have proved that education is one of the biggest drivers of sustainable development.It is our consistent wish that every child can receive a fair and quality education and prevent the "intergenerational transmission" of poverty.We regard supporting the cause of education as an important part of the company's social responsibility, and through various student assistance activities, we help young people obtain fair educational opportunities and realize their ideals and self-worth.We continue to promote traditional support education projects, including the establishment of scholarships and bursaries, funding students with financial difficulties, improving teaching conditions in poor areas, and supporting science, technology, culture, education and related competitions.

In addition, we explore new models to support education, so as to encourage the whole society to pay attention to and work together to solve the issue of educational equity.We cooperate with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, Beijing Shijia Education Group, Tencent Public Welfare and other institutions to carry out public welfare projects such as "Xuhang" Student Aid and "Yishi Plan" to help more students in poor areas realize their dreams of studying.

Scholarships and bursaries
Set up the "China Petroleum Scholarship".The China Petroleum Scholarship was established in November 2001 and officially launched in 2002. It has established outstanding student awards, inspirational awards and talent introduction contribution awards in petroleum and petrochemical colleges and national "211" key colleges and universities.The company donated a one-time capital of 30 million yuan and promised to use the capital operation income of the fund as a scholarship every year to fund and reward outstanding Education funding project

"Yishi Plan"
The "Yishi Plan" is jointly carried out by PetroChina and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. It aims to organize outstanding teachers from developed areas to Xinjiang, Henan, Jiangxi, and Guizhou to carry out subject exchanges in designated poverty-stricken counties, and at the same time screen young backbone rural teachers from poor areas to study in developed areas to train teachers in poor areas, so as to improve the strength of teachers and the level of compulsory education in the recipient areas.In September 2021, PetroChina will continue to implement the "Yishi Plan", continue to enrich the teaching carrier and training content, and rely on the education platform of Beijing Normal University to carry out online learning and training projects for rural teachers in 10 districts and counties of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Jiangxi Province, Guizhou Province and Henan Province. More than 20,000 primary and middle school teachers.The project takes online learning as the main way, adopts precise training methods to cultivate the "living force" for the sustainable development of education in various regions, promotes the fair and in-depth development of education, and builds a solid foundation for the development of education in poverty-stricken areas and counties in the central and western regions.

"Xuhang" Student Aid Public Welfare Project
In 2015, PetroChina cooperated with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to jointly launch the "Xuhang" student Aid public welfare project to help high school students with financial difficulties complete their studies and realize their dreams of studying.The first phase of the "Xuhang" student aid project was launched in Sichuan and Henan provinces.The project provides grants and scholarships.The financial aid is used to provide financial assistance for the assisted students to study and live in school, and the standard is 2,000 yuan per person per year.The scholarship is used to provide a one-time incentive for assisted students admitted to two or more ordinary colleges and universities. The standard is 5,000 yuan per person.In 2021, 11 million yuan will be invested to fund 3,397 poor high school students in 20 schools in 8 provinces.

Light up Tibet's Shuanghu Education Dream
Since 2012, Tibet has fully implemented the 15-year compulsory education free "three guarantees" policy, but only a very small number of students in Shuanghu have the ability to enter high school, and the entrance examination rate is less than 10%; PetroChina's in-depth research has learned that it is not that local parents do not value education, but that education does not give them hope.To this end, the company decided to use the Tibet Class in the mainland as a breakthrough, so that parents and children in Shuanghu can see that "knowledge changes destiny."

With the support of PetroChina and some caring educators, more than 40 Shuanghu primary and middle school students have successively enrolled in Lhasa Beijing Experimental Middle School, Lhasa Beijing Primary School, Beijing Normal University Attached High School and other schools.In the 2020 college entrance examination, all four senior high school students studying at Beijing Experimental Middle School in Lhasa passed the undergraduate admission score line, of which one exceeded the key undergraduate line.

"Chunlei Girl" Dream of Studying
Northwest Sales Yumen Branch has continued to pay attention to girls' education since 2007, and cooperated with the Yumen Women's Federation to implement the "Chunlei Girls" Action Plan to help poor girls who dropped out of school return to school to complete their studies.In 2015, representatives of the Northwest Sales Branch signed a "Love Pairing Rescue Commitment Letter" with 30 subsidized "Chunlei Girls".Starting in 2015, they will receive a regular subsidy of 1,000 yuan per year for three consecutive years until they complete their high school studies.
