PetroChina released news on the 23rd: China's first 10,000-meter exploration well, the deep Taco 1 well, has a drilling depth of more than half.The deep Taco 1 well is located in the Tarim Basin of Xinjiang, with a design depth of 11,100 meters. Since drilling started on May 30 this year, it has completed the drilling task in the shallow and medium layers, with a maximum daily drilling depth of 567 meters.

Generally speaking, drilling with a drilling depth of more than 6,000 meters is called ultra-deep wells.Drilling ultra-deep wells brings the limits of multiple drilling and completion technologies such as ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure. For every 100 meters deep underground, the temperature will increase by about 2 degrees Celsius, and the underground will face a high temperature of about 220 degrees Celsius.At present, although the drilling depth of the deep Taco 1 well is more than half, the remaining part is planned to take more than a year due to the need to overcome difficult formations.

Liu Jinlong, an engineer of PetroChina's Tarim Oilfield Exploration Division, introduced that a high-strength metal-sealed coring tool, a logging instrument with a temperature resistance of 230 degrees Celsius and a compression resistance of 175 MPa, has been developed to provide support for drilling 10,000-meter deep wells. Guarantee.In the past two years, more than 90% of the new oil and gas reserves in the Tarim oilfield have been obtained through drilling ultra-deep wells.The annual oil and gas output of ultra-deep wells in the Tarim oilfield has exceeded 18 million tons, accounting for more than half of the total oilfield production. Ultra-deep wells have become an important support for increasing storage and production.

 “It took 10 years for drilling in the Tarim oilfield from a depth of 4,500 meters to 6,000 meters, and 17 years from a depth of 7,000 meters to 9,000 meters. The deep Taco 1 well will take more than 370 days from the current depth of 6,000 meters to more than 10,000 meters. This will also be the fastest record for drilling a 10,000-meter deep well in the world."Liu Jinlong said.
